Calling All Organizers…

What I am about to share with you may cause you to go into a frenzy of excitement and may make you hug your computer… Brace yourselves.

I don’t know about you, but I am a planner. I like to write things down. If it has to get done, it has to get written down. None of this putting it in my phone stuff… As much as I love my iPhone, it will simply never compare with putting actual pen to paper. What can I say, I’m old-fashioned.

So, I was browsing Pinterest one day in search of an agenda book for the upcoming school year. That’s when I found it… The holy grail of all agenda books. Ladies and gents, I give you the biggest genius in all the organizing land: Erin Condren. She makes personalized stationery, address labels, note pads and more, but what caught my eye, what simply made my day, was her amazing personalized planners. I started freaking out a little, playing with all the different color combo and pattern options. Finally, I decided on what I wanted, and made my perfect planner.

Today, I returned home to find the prettiest of packages waiting on my doorstep and was overjoyed.

Is this not the cutest box ever ? You know something fantastic is going to be inside when even the box looks like this.

There are inspirational sayings on the box. Come on.

It took a lot of patience to not tear right into this… But I wanted to take pretty pictures so I could show you every detail of cuteness.

Open box: see free little things. Things are only getting better.

And a $10 coupon for my next purchase?!

Aaaand, there it is! My beautiful, personalized, life planner. Is it not the cutest? Let’s take a look and see what is inside…

More inspiration. There are great little sayings all throughout the book- so clever!

Notice the tabs with the months!

Pages to mark birthdays and anniversaries will definitely come in handy…

A look at one of the calendar pages…

Seems like a good quote to be inside a planner, right?

Tons of stickers to mark various occasions- also comes with a whole blank page in case you want to put your own events on some!

Also comes with tons of cute stickers for gifting!!

There are also a bunch of things you can add on for additional charges, like pens and pads and stickers, but I chose not to and there is seriously SO MUCH STUFF!

So while this post may be a little different from my normal baked goods or style tidbits, I felt I had to share this fabulous find! I hope you go visit Erin and allow her to bring some fun and organization into your life as well! 🙂

Who Wears Floral Shorts?

I Wear Floral Shorts!

Hey there! So today I wanted to talk about something I’m sure your aware of by now, but I still had to share my love. Floral shorts. I actually am pretty much in love with any sort of pant-like article of clothing with flowers on it, but seeing as it is summer I thought I’d stick with the short genre. I think floral shorts are the cutest and should be in everyones’ closets AT LEAST once… come on, it’s absolutely necessary! A total summer staple.

Image

A candid shot of my favorite floral shorts… I’d say I wear them at least once a week… sometimes five. They’re perfect to throw on to go to the beach, out shopping, dress them up for a night out- they are so versatile! Plus, you’ll feel awesome because you have flowers all over your butt. Bonus.

You can get the ones I’m wearing at Free People.

Here are a few more of my personal fav florally finds:

Floral Print Shorts

Absolutely love these from Chic Wish. Super affordable and perfect if you want a little dressier look!

floral shorts

Nope, these aren’t for sale. Yes, I am still in love. Could she rock them any more perfectly?

Hana Floral Shorts

Love these Hawaiian looking ones from, my favorite, Nasty Gal! Too cute.

FLORAL SHORTS

Love this preppy style from Poppy NYC!

Clearly, whether you’re preppy, funky, vintage, boho or just like flowers, floral shorts can work for you! You can go from the beach to a night out simply with the switch of a top and a pair of sandals, and voila! I suggest you go get yourself a pair to be floral and fanciful now! 🙂

I’ve Been Bright, Baking and Busy… But, Now I’m Back Blogging!

Woah. That’s a lot of Bs.

HEY THERE! Wow, so it has been months. For the (few) people who read my blog, I’m so sorry for not posting for so long! Life as a graduating senior took over and the amount of busy in my life was ridiculous! But, that doesn’t mean I’ve stopped doing what I love to do. Oh no, there has been much fashion and baking galore over the past few months. From prom, to graduation, to parties and more, there was much taste to be had for this little girl.

I’d like to catch you up on some of my chic and sugary moments! And not to worry, there will be plenty more on its way… For real this time!

Image

Image

I don’t know about you guys, but as far as the fashion sphere goes, I’ve been kind of obsessed with neon and brights lately. Especially the neon wedges I’m wearing in these two photos, from my graduation party and graduation! I’m kind of obsessed with them and wear them every chance I get. (Because even then, how often do neon pink green and orange wedges work with your outfit…? Exactly.)

Here’s a close up of the little cuties:

Image

I mean, come on.

I’ve even been neon and bright when it comes to my workout fashion!

ImageImage

All I have to say about that is, Lululemon is genius. I’m actually obsessed.

But I’ve been exploring more than just clothes and shoes and styles galore, oh no. I’ve been baking and making all things delicious! Today I’d like to share one of my personal favorites… Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the “Whookie:”

Image

I found these little gems on Yammie’s Noshery. There you can find the complete recipe! I made one small tweak, though: I deemed them “Whookies” instead of Whoopie Pies. Whookie, for a cross between whoopee pie and cookie. Ha! So clever. But seriously, I found them to be not quite cake enough to be pure whoopie pies. I guess you’ll have to make them for yourself and be the judge of that!Image

Image

The little rainbow balls of goodness before being popped into the oven!

Image

And after.

Now time for some filling. Yum.

Image

Image

Now, the finished product!

Image

Image

I ended up using some bigger sprinkles, too because I ran out of the small kind! They really were simple and everyone loved them. You must make them… now!

Image

Look at all that color!

It feels good to be back… I hope you feel the same! Enjoy this bright and tasty post…it will not be the last! 🙂

Rain, Rain, Stay All Day!

Hi there everyone! So if you know me, you know when I like something, I don’t just like it…. I become kind of obsessed. Kind of like my relationship with making fudge. Oh and anything sparkly. Well, I have found my latest obsession… RAIN BOOTS! Now, I have always been a fan of the cute wellie trend, but wasn’t always certain I could pull it off. You see, I never really found the right ones that screamed “ME!” Well, until Christmas morning, when I opened up these puppies…

I died. Well first, I tackled my mother and thanked Santa immensely. She (oops, I mean he) really is fabulous 😉 The terrible quality of this photo really doesn’t even do them justice. Hot pink. Lace up. WEDGE. Rain Boots. I felt like a kid in the candy store.
So, obviously, I could not wait for it to rain. I waited and waited and finally, it rained today and I got to wear my crazy, ever-so-me rain boots! I felt kind of like a cartoon character, in the best way possible. If I could turn myself into a rain boot, these shoes would be me.
I’m sort of in love. Here are some other rain boots I’m just gaga for:
EVEDON Womens Wellies
EVEDON Womens Wellies
These Joules Rain Boots could not be cuter. They come in two other colors as well, but I’m a purple freak. How can you not just love that big bow ?! You can find them here.

Completely unconventional, these rain boots are so funky I can’t get over them! Who would’ve thought of ankle booties for rain boots?! Pure genius. I love love love them! Leave it to ModCloth to supply these fierce babies.

And of course, what would a post about rain boots be if I didn’t include the ever-fabulous, ever-classy Hunters?! These two are my favorites from the current season. You can find them on the Hunter Website!
These are just a few of the beyond fabulous rain boots out there! The point? Don’t settle- find ones that SCREAM “you!” like mine scream “me!” Rain boots are an amazing way to bring some shine to a gloomy day 🙂 So make every day a beautiful one, rain or shine!

What a Doll.

Hi there! So in case you’re totally completely out of the loop, you should know that about two weeks ago, September 28- October 5, was Paris Fashion Week, AKA the most epic, fabulous, amazing week ever. I’m not trying to diss my NYC, but come on… Paris Fashion Week is IT. Don’t get me wrong, New York Fashion Week is glamourous and exciting as well, but Paris Fashion Week is where the designers bust out the big guns. Of course being the obsessive fashion junkie that I am, I pretty much stalked every runway show (thank you Fashionologie for your pretty much instant coverage of every runway show!). I have to say, this was, in my opinion, one of the most consistently amazing fashion weeks I have ever seen. There was truly no collection I despised! Of course, McQueen was AMAZING (Sarah Burton is a goddess.) and Dior is always a favorite of mine, but the one runway show that took me by surprise was Viktor & Rolf. As much as I appreciate the two avant-garde designers, their collections are usually not the ones I fall in love with. But this time, they knocked me off my feet.

Their entire line was doll-themed. You known I am a fan of all things cute, and they somehow managed to make cute fierce. If that’s not talent, I don’t know what is.

Every look was more precious than the next. I adore those little shorts!

The shoes are very important to me in a runway show as well, and these had me dying. They’re like little cupcakes on their feet!

This is one of my favorites- does she not look like a little barbie?! The oversized stitching I think is what won me over. How they managed to make huge stitches couture is beyond me, but it works.

This almost makes me think of a seashell…

Oh come on, you know I’m a sucker for fabulous poofy dresses. This color is amazing, this dress is amazing, this collection is amazing. Period end of story. Hope you love these dolly looks as much I do! Have an adorable day 😉

“I Believe Happy Girls Are The Prettiest.”

-Audrey Hepburn. I couldn’t have said it better myself.

Well hi there friends, long time no talk! Today I’m sharing something with you that I should have shared long ago: My obsession with Audrey Hepburn. I’m actually kind of shocked that I have yet to tell you this. But I guess when you’re obsessed with such an obscene quantity of things, something has to get lost in translation… right? But I must say, there is no excuse for forgetting Audrey, because there is simply nothing forgettable about her. She is the epitome of grace and beauty. She is funny, quirky and chic. If you ask me, they just don’t make ’em classy and glamourous like her anymore.

Hence, when I had to dress up for a celebrity costume party this weekend, there was only one person I wanted to be: Audrey. Thankfully, I have a fabulously chic mother and had basically the entire costume  in her closet. All I needed was the cigarette holder and my best friend Morgan’s hair expertise, and voila, Laura goes Audrey! Of course, I went classic Holly Golightly style, a la Breakfast at Tiffany’s…

Alright, not that I could EVER match Audrey’s insanely amazing beauty, but I have to pat myself on the back for the costume here… 🙂

Pinned Image

Ugh, she’s so fierce.

Fake cigarette, of course.

Pinned Image

Well, obviously I had to try my best to model the Audrey pose…

It was so much fun being Audrey for a night! All you really need is a simple sleeveless black dress, black gloves, a pearl necklace, black pointy pumps, and a little updo with something sparkly going on up top!

I chose to go with Audrey’s Holly Golightly persona because it is the most recognizable, but here are a few of my other favorite Audrey looks…

Pinned Image

Starring as Princess Ann in “Roman Holiday.” I’d kill to prance around in that gown.

Oh, the infamous Gap ad. How could anyone not love her after watching that?!

Pinned Image

As Eliza Doolittle in My Fair Lady. Did the girl ever get put in a bad costume?

Finally, this photo always has been and always will be one of my favorites of all time. In Givenchy driving gear from “How to Steal A Million,” only Audrey would look fabulous and not like a space alien in this get up. Hence, further proof that she is the most marvelous woman that ever lived.

So there you have it, friends. My Audrey obsession. She is everything every woman would want to be- beautiful, classy, smart, funny, stylish and sharp.

“I believe in pink. I believe that laughing is the best calorie burner. I believe in kissing, kissing a lot. I believe in being strong when everything seems to be going wrong. I believe that happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day and I believe in miracles.”

Audrey, you are a genius and an icon. The end.

Fabulous Fall

Hi everyone! I know I haven’t posted in few days, but like I said, with school my posts are going to be a little less frequent! But that just means they’ll be all the more special when you do read them, right?! I sure hope so 🙂 Well, I hope you all enjoyed fashion week as much as I did. I thought it was one of the most consistently stunning seasons. I would have to say my favorite may have been Rodarte…

I mean let’s get serious. Laura and Kate Mulleavy, you are absolute geniuses. You can read all about their dreamy collection and view every piece here!

Alright, but that’s not even what I want to talk to you about today. I want to talk to you about the most wonderful time of the year… FALL! I’m sort of jumping for joy. After an entire week of 80 degree days, I was starting to get a little annoyed… If I can’t be at the beach, summer is over. Hence, I WANT FALL. So when I woke up yesterday and felt the crisp, cool air outside, I sort of started to dance. Finally, a beautiful , yummy, amazing fall day! I put on my first sweater of the season. Boy, was it rewarding. Since I was so ecstatic about this season change, I had to share my excitement with all of you by sharing my top 10 fall inspirations right now! Let the games begin…

1. This Candy Corn Masterpiece.

Warning: if you plan on reading my blog within the next month or so, there will be abundant mention of candy corn. I’m kind of obsessed. I love it. It’s delicious AND adorable. I don’t care if I start to feel like I’m going to throw up after eating about 10 pieces. I enjoy every candy-corny moment. Hence, my current love for these candy corn parfaits. I found them on Baked Bree, and they immediately went on my fall baking to-do list. Oh my little friends, I cannot wait to make you.

Lacy Pumpkin

2. Lace Pumpkins.

Okay, I know this is kind of random and specific, but I found this decorating idea on Better Homes and I can’t stop staring at it! In my house, we go all out for Halloween decorating, and this would look so fierce amongst our glamourous witches and fiber-optic Frankensteins. Don’t you love it when even pumpkins can be stylish?!

3. This Makeup.

When I saw this makeup on Pinterest, it just screamed fall to me. The pale skin, the burgundy lip, the red hair, I love it all. I’m in love with doing a burgundy lip for fall. Right now I’m using Benefit No Competition – it is the absolute BEST!

4. Candy Corn Pretzel Huggies.

I told you to be warned: I love candy corn. These little treats are so easy and adorable to make! They’re perfect to bring to a Halloween get-together or just to put a smile on someone’s face 🙂

5. Pumpkin Spice Latte Cupcakes.

Another thing I’m obsessed with during the fall? Pumpkin. The color, the taste, the smell, basically everything about it! While I’m not the biggest pumpkin pie fan (although I do make a mean one) I think pumpkin desserts are absolutely outrageous. These cupcakes from Annie’s Eats are a must-make.

6. Pumpkin Pancakes.

I hate to tell you this, but if you don’t like pumpkin you should leave, because I kind of love it. No, not kind of, I do love it. You know what else I love? Pancakes. Therefore, pumpkin pancakes are a dream come true. From How To Simplify, these pancakes look amazing. I’m definitely throwing a breakfast party and definitely making these.

7. Tights, Tights and More Tights.

If it’s fall, you can bet I’m wearing tights. Whether they’re patterned, lace, knit, or just basic black, tights are a fall must-have. You can wear them with a knit dress or rock them with thick shorts and boots. No matter what you wear, tights can work! I’m head-over-heels for that orange pair. Halloween, anyone?

8. Pumpkin Trifles.
I made this drippy delicious treat for Thanksgiving last year. This was one of my first creative baking endeavors and I was quite nervous! Although it may not be the most beautiful, it was a huge success. My entire family loved it and devoured it! I had to bring it back this year because, to me, it’s the epitome of fall. Layers of gingerbread, pumpkin mousse/custard and cool whip- how can you go wrong?
9. Candy Corn Fudge.
Seriously? You know I am a huge fan of making fudge, so you can imagine my excitement when I saw this on Taste and Tell. I really have nothing more to say… This treat speaks for itself.
10. HALLOWEEN HALLOWEEN HALLOWEEN!!!
Sorry about that little freak out… But I have something to tell you: I. Am. A. Halloween. Addict. It is my favorite holiday, hands down. It combines all things I love: Dressing up, candy, candy corn, pumpkins, decorating, being silly and having fun! I am counting down the days until this glorious holiday.
There you have it: my fall favs! I cannot wait to share with you all of the lovely treats and trends this season has to bring 🙂
